Sonny – Cozy house infused with the “Scando” sound (interview & mixtape)

Blog September 3 2018 Xavier-6

Interview by Alexander Julin

Australian Xavier Bacash made his debut last year with an EP called “C.E” on the Danish label Koldt Bord. “C.E” was an enormously organic release which differed from the majority of contemporary electronic music in Denmark due to its incorporation of jazz-elements. On his subsequent release, the EP “Plastic Worlds”, the elements of electronic jazz have been abandoned in favor of a purer house style, which nonetheless still shares several features with his former EP. Following the release of “Plastic Worlds”, P/A has interviewed Bacash about his releases and future plans, and he has made us an accompanying mix, illustrating some of his sources of inspiration.

Blog May 23 2018 25311380_10212630703694973_5934229372301654181_o

DJ LAKUTI – Heart, sincerity and compassion (interview)

English February 7 2018

Lakuti3

By Sandra S. Borch

To even begin to describe her place in music, it must be noted that Berlin-based DJ Lakuti aka Lerato Khathi from the Johannesburg-township Soweto has been around long enough to have experienced the first wave of house records. She cried on the dance floor, when she heard Fingers Inc’s house anthem “Can You Feel It” for the first time. She has made a name for herself over the past decades, where she has proved herself as a hardworking woman at her own agency Uzuri and admirable selector with her always heartfelt dj-sets and mixes. Passive/Aggressive talked to DJ Lakuti in anticipation of her appearance at CTM festival this year – and about how she moved across the world, for music and love.

Vol 1″ (2016). Læs resten

DJ Sports – A new species in dance music

DJ Sports “Modern Species” (Firecracker Recordings, 2017) – review by Morten Løwenstein

When diving into DJ Sports and his back catalogue, you automatically dive into the world of Regelbau. My first intention was not to include any intro to the Aarhus-based collective. However, the background is of great significance in this case. With a crew tally of no less than 11, Regelbau’s members have put Denmark and Aarhus on the dance music map, while simultaneously developing their own unique and confident approach to dance music – or all music – and to the scene itself.

The much-deserved hype of the Regelbau crew has grown in a rarely seen organic way, and the fact that the crew is built on a strong foundation of friendship and common musical interests is clear. Læs resten
